Who it suits

The 23 Cabin EVO — a cuddy cabin at 23 ft with a V-berth, head and mini-galley — is a specific proposition: it targets the inland cruiser who wants shelter and the option of a night aboard without stepping up to a full cruiser's price, draught or berth costs. The Italian lakes, the Dutch and German canal networks, and the growing number of waters with combustion restrictions are its natural territory. The carbon-fibre hardtop with remote sliding doors suggests Alfastreet expects shoulder-season use, not just July afternoons.

The numbers, and the one that is missing

Thirty kilowatts of pod drive is roughly 40 hp equivalent, which on a hull of this type means comfortable displacement to low semi-displacement speeds. This is not a boat for towing, and not one for covering distance quickly. The more important point is that the yard does not publish a battery capacity. Without it, no buyer can calculate a day's endurance, the charging time from a given marina supply, or the eventual replacement cost of the single most expensive component. Insist on those figures in writing before committing.

One further caveat: Alfastreet's range is predominantly petrol, with electric offered as an option on the same hulls. That brings a mature, well-sorted platform, but it also means the electric package is an adaptation rather than a ground-up design, and packaging compromises in such conversions usually show up as battery volume.
