A small boat with an unresolved specification
The Phantom is the most compact boat in Vision Marine's range: 5.03 m, fully rotomoulded plastic, rated for ten people. That passenger figure against that length tells you the intended use immediately — a lot of bodies, very little distance, at low speed. Think club tender, hire fleet, sheltered lake or resort shuttle rather than anything resembling a day cruiser.
Buy with your eyes open
We cannot give a clean read on the drivetrain, and it would be dishonest to pretend otherwise. Vision's own marketing places this line at "6 hp", a figure that sits oddly against the rest of the range and which we have not been able to reconcile. Battery capacity, motor output, range and price are all unpublished. That is not a criticism of the boat; it is a statement of what a buyer currently cannot see.
How it sits against alternatives
Rotomoulded polyethylene is genuinely well suited to hard-working, shared-use boats: it shrugs off dock rash in a way gelcoat does not, and it needs little cosmetic maintenance. Against the fibreglass Volt 180 on a similar length, the Phantom looks like the utility choice rather than the leisure one. Anyone considering a fleet purchase should insist on written kWh, continuous kW and runtime at a stated load, ideally demonstrated with ten aboard, before committing to numbers.
