A compact day boat with a genuinely confused spec sheet
The Volt 180 is a 5.4 m fibreglass-composite day boat with a 2.13 m beam and just 0.3 m of draft — shallow enough for beaching and lake work, and easily trailed. The battery is the interesting part: a 32 kWh lithium-ion pack manufactured by BMW, which for a boat of this size is a serious amount of energy and points to a builder buying quality cells rather than assembling its own.
The conflict, stated plainly
Vision's own listing is internally inconsistent about propulsion. The model name and marketing imply something around a 180 hp equivalent, while the same page elsewhere describes an outboard rated up to 5 hp. Those two claims cannot both describe this boat, and we are not going to pick the flattering one. The published 26-knot top speed is consistent with the higher figure, but a buyer should get written confirmation of motor make, model and continuous kW before any deposit.
What to expect in use
No range is published, and at 26 knots a 32 kWh pack will not last long — planing consumption is brutal. Realistically this is a boat for short, fast bursts within a day of gentle cruising. At €33,275 it undercuts most credible European electric day boats, which makes the specification questions more pressing, not less.
