The working end of Vita's range
The SeaDog is the compact, hard-working member of Vita's RIB family: 5.8 metres of aluminium hull, a single 63 kWh pack and up to 140 kW of peak power from the V150 system. Aluminium rather than composite is the tell — this is specified for fenders, pontoon edges and daily commercial use rather than for showroom finish.
For a harbour launch, patrol boat or crew tender the small pack is as much a virtue as a limit. Sixty-three kilowatt-hours recharges quickly and fits a modest shore supply, and a boat working in short bursts around a port rarely needs more. Its length matters more than any spec sheet figure: it will fit davits and garages that the 7.2-metre Seal will not.
Choosing it over the Seal, and what to check
Take the SeaDog when berth or garage dimensions decide the purchase, or when duty cycles are short and the charger is close. Take the Seal when you need passenger capacity and a full day between charges. Two honest caveats. Top speed is quoted as over 25 knots by Vita's own marketing but up to 30 knots in independent coverage, so treat 30 as a best case rather than a working figure. And the €157,000 price is converted from roughly £135,000 and appears in the source shared with the larger Seal despite the size gap — read it as indicative and ask for an itemised current quote.
